Project 1 – Seamless Learning Base Project

The region around Lake Constance, with its many innovative companies, must face up to global competition – including for the best minds. Rapid change requires a high level of adaptability with a corresponding need for lifelong learning. Seamless learning is based on fragmented learning experiences. What we learned as children at school is no longer needed in higher education; what is relevant in a practical context cannot be gleaned from a degree study program or continuing education. The goal of seamless learning is to bridge the gaps between individual stages of education, between school and the professional world, or from analog to digital. In addition, new technologies are utilized.
The base project aims to develop and expand research and development into seamless learning in the Lake Constance region. It creates a network for this, lays the scientific-conceptual foundations, and underpins seven development projects in didactic-conceptual and technical development - with the help of a design-based research approach. Needs are analyzed jointly, and didactic prototypes are developed, tested, and evaluated. There are also plans for an online showroom for software that supports seamless learning concepts. This should help when deciding which didactic principles and technologies can be meaningfully used in teaching.
